Free-to-air Croatian sports broadcaster SPTV will bring fans live coverage of the Tehnix FIM Speedway GP of Croatia on April 29 as the 2023 FIM Speedway Grand Prix series launches in Donji Kraljevec.

Following an agreement between FIM Speedway global promoter Warner Bros. Discovery Sports and SPTV, Croatian fans can view all the action from Speedway Stadion Milenium as the Speedway GP series gets underway in Croatia for the second straight season.

Croatian viewers can then follow the entire FIM Speedway season with full coverage on the Eurosport app, featuring all the build-up from the pits and reaction after the chequered flag falls, plus the very best coverage of the racing including pit and on-board cameras, rider reaction times and, coming soon, live speed data.

Fans can also watch a 45-minute highlights show on Eurosport 1 after every round, as well as the climax of speedway’s world team championship. The Monster Energy FIM Speedway World Cup Race Off and Final in Wroclaw will be live on Eurosport 1 across Europe on July 28 and 29.

Laura Manciet, FIM Speedway championships director, cannot wait to kick off the 2023 Speedway GP season in Croatia.

She said: “Warner Bros. Discovery Sports staged its first Speedway GP event as global promoter in Croatia last year, and it’s exciting to be launching another season here in 2023 – the year our sport celebrates its 100th anniversary.

“After an incredible event in 2022, we are delighted to partner with SPTV once again to broadcast the opening round of Speedway GP free-to-air across Croatia.

“The Speedway Stadion Milenium track is not a circuit where our SGP riders race on a regular basis, meaning it’s always a level playing field when speedway’s biggest stars come to Croatia.

“This should make for an exciting event, and we look forward to launching the 2023 Speedway GP series with a great night of racing.”

Jura Ozmec, chief editor of SPTV, is proud to provide coverage of Croatia’s biggest night of speedway.

He said: “Sports Television Croatia (SPTV) is proud to have such an event on our channel, as we are a network whose main goal is to promote Croatian sports and sports events that are organised in Croatia.

“It is great to see Speedway GP come back to our country, and surely our viewers will enjoy another exciting event and some great races.”
