POLISH SPEEDWAY GP STARS TO APPEAR AT WARSAW'S MUSEUM OF SPORTS AND TOURISM THIS SATURDAY

Poland’s Speedway GP stars will be making a special appearance at Warsaw’s Museum of Sports and Tourism at the opening of their Speedway Night of Museums exhibition from 11:00 CET this Saturday morning.

Ahead of Saturday evening’s Orlen FIM Speedway GP of Poland – Warsaw at PGE Narodowy, triple world champion Zmarzlik, world No.3 Maciej Janowski and former world No.2 Patryk Dudek will all be in attendance for the event, with the museum offering FREE ENTRY for all.

The opening of this speedway exhibition at the museum on ul. Wybrzeże Gdyńskie coincides with Warsaw’s Long Night of Museums this Saturday, giving fans the opportunity to check out museums all over the city, before heading to PGE Narodowy to enjoy the racing from 19:00 CET.

It wouldn’t be Poland’s national sporting museum without some speedway bikes, and the brand-new exhibition will feature bikes from all of the nation’s three FIM Speedway world champions, Bartosz Zmarzlik, Tomasz Gollob and Jerzy Szczakiel.

Reigning Polish champion Zmarzlik will also donate the legendary Kadyrov's Cap to the museum's collections. The iconic hat, embroidered with the names of all the Polish Championship winners, has been worn by all of Poland’s speedway greats.

Fans can meet legendary riders, coaches and mechanics from 12:00 CET until 17:00 CET. There will be a chance for visitors to test their skills on speedway racing simulators and iconic Speedway GP images on display.

As well as its special speedway exhibition, the museum’s permanent collection tells the story of sport from ancient Greece, through to the first modern Olympic Games and the present day, and includes sporting art, technical gear, medals, trophies, sporting antiques and other memorabilia.

Visitors can learn about the impact of politics and wars on Polish sport; find out more about the present-day sporting heroes, and view their Olympic medals, diplomas and trophies.
