NEW DACKARNA DEAL FOR JENSENNEW DACKARNA DEAL FOR JENSEN

Danish champion Rasmus Jensen has been confirmed as the latest member of Swedish side Dackarna’s 2023 squad.

Jensen enjoyed a breakthrough 2022 season, winning his first national championship and scoring an impressive 12 points as wild card at the FIM Speedway GP of Denmark – Vojens, sponsored by ECCO on September 10.

The 28-year-old joined the Malilla club from Rospiggarna ahead of the 2021 season and ended this year with a healthy average of 1.973 – putting him top of the Dackarna average charts.

The 2021 Bauhaus Elitserien champions reached the play-off semi-finals, losing out to Lejonen.  But they will hope to take a couple of steps further in 2023 and team manager Mikael Teurnberg believes there is more to come from Jensen.

He told the Dackarna website: “Rasmus has been the backbone of the team during the year. He has been responsible for incomparable races and has been the one who has always delivered points.

“He has made the development curve that I predicted when I, as the new team manager, recruited him from Rospiggarna. I am convinced that Rasmus will continue to develop.

“After another strong season from Rasmus, it is of course great that he has chosen to sign for a third year at the club. Rasmus was top of the averages at Dackarna in 2022 and has established himself among the world’s best riders during the year.”

Jensen was delighted to extend his stay in Malilla. He said: “The season for my own part was quite okay. As for continuing in Dackarna, it was an easy decision for me.”

Jensen is joined in the squad by Swedish duo Ludvig Lindgren and Filip Hjelmland as the Bauhaus Elitserien transfer window hots up.
