LIVE COVERAGE OF PRAGUE SPEEDWAY GP ROUND RETURNS TO CT SPORT
21/04/2023
The 2023 FIM Speedway GP of Czech Republic – Prague will be live on free-to-air channel CT Sport on June 3, with all this year’s FIM Speedway action on the Eurosport app.
Following an agreement between FIM Speedway global promoter Warner Bros. Discovery Sports and CT Sport, Speedway GP’s longest-running event will be broadcasted live to a national audience in the Czech Republic for a second straight season.
An incredible 12 of the last 21 Speedway GP winners in the Czech capital have gone on to win the world title in the same year, so the stakes will be high for the venue’s 29th SGP event since it first staged Speedway GP World Championship racing in 1997.
Czech viewers can follow the entire FIM Speedway season with full coverage on the Eurosport app, starting with the season-opening Tehnix FIM Speedway GP of Croatia on April 29.
The Eurosport app will feature all the build-up from the pits and reaction after the chequered flag falls, plus the very best coverage of the racing including pit and on-board cameras, rider reaction times and, coming soon, live speed data. Czech viewers can also watch a 45-minute highlights show on Eurosport 1 after every round.
In addition, subscribers can follow Czech Republic’s fortunes in the Monster Energy FIM Speedway World Cup, speedway’s world team championship, as it returns in Wroclaw from July 25-29, with the Race Off and Final also live across Europe on Eurosport 1 on July 28 and 29.
Laura Manciet, FIM Speedway championships director, looks forward to bringing Czech fans free-to-air coverage from Prague’s storied Marketa Stadium in June.
She said: “We are delighted to be bringing our Czech fans the FIM Speedway GP of Czech Republic – Prague in partnership with CT Sport for the second straight season.
“Last year’s event saw Slovakia’s Martin Vaculik top the podium in his home round, and I’m sure we are set for another unforgettable night of racing.
“Our Prague event has an incredible history, with legends including Tony Rickardsson, Greg Hancock, Nicki Pedersen and Jason Crump all winning there, plus modern-day heroes Tai Woffinden, Bartosz Zmarzlik, Fredrik Lindgren and Jason Doyle. We look forward to adding another chapter to this great story live on CT Sport.”
