LEBEDEVS & PARNITSKIY CALLED UP FOR VOJENS WEEKENDLEBEDEVS & PARNITSKIY CALLED UP FOR VOJENS WEEKEND

Latvian racer Andzejs Lebedevs has joined the line-up for the DeluxeHomeart FIM Speedway GP of Denmark – Vojens after Danish star Anders Thomsen officially withdrew from his home event on Saturday, September 16.

Thomsen underwent surgery after suffering a broken hand in the OlyBet FIM Speedway GP of Latvia – Riga on August 12. He was ruled out of the FIM Speedway GP of Great Britain – Cardiff last Saturday and the Vojens event also comes too soon for him.

Speedway GP first substitute rider Lebedevs steps in for his fourth appearance in the 2023 series as he bids to reach his first semi-final of the season and make his debut in a Speedway GP final.

There is also a change to the line-up for the Jørgen Hansen Biler FIM SGP2 of Denmark – Vojens on Friday, September 15.

Swedish star Gustav Grahn announced that he was taking a break from the sport following round two of the FIM Speedway Under-21 World Championship series in Gorzow in June.

SGP2 first substitute rider Nazar Parnitskiy of Ukraine steps into the line-up for his series debut, wearing No.785. He impressed in the qualifier at Czech track Pardubice in May, falling just a point short of a full place in the line-up.

Parnitskiy has represented Polish club Leszno in both the PGE Ekstraliga and the Under-24 Ekstraliga this season. He will hope to put that experience to good use against the sport’s top under-21 stars in the final round of this season’s SGP2 series, where Poland’s Mateusz Cierniak needs a top-six finish to guarantee his second straight World Under-21 title.
