LAMBERT LEADS SMEDERNA TITLE DEFENCE

Great Britain racer Robert Lambert will spearhead Swedish side Smederna’s Bauhaus Elitserien title defence in 2023.

The 2021 FIM Speedway of Nations world champion was crowned the club’s Rider of the Year at their end-of-season gala after he joined forces with Speedway GP rival Dan Bewley to inspire the Blacksmiths to title gold.

Posting an image from the gala on Facebook, Lambert celebrated the individual award, while confirming he will be back in the Eskilstuna club’s colours next year.

Lambert wrote: “Thank you Eskilstuna Smederna for the amazing season with you guys. I’m happy to announce I will be staying for 2023 as a Blacksmith.

“It’s nice to end the season with the Rider of the Year award, so a big thanks to all the fans that voted for me.”

Lambert joins forces with Swedish shooting star Philip Hellstrom-Bangs, who makes the move from his boyhood club Masarna.
