JANOWSKI MAKES MOTALA RETURNJANOWSKI MAKES MOTALA RETURN

Polish racer Maciej Janowski will race in three leagues this season after returning to Swedish side Piraterna for the first time in 11 seasons.

Janowski helped the club to Elitserien gold medals in 2011 and 2013, before heading to Rospiggarna in 2014 and opting out of Swedish action in 2015. He then returned to Sweden with Malilla club Dackarna in 2016, where he has raced ever since – apart from during the Covid-19 season of 2020.

While Janowski limited himself to two leagues after qualifying for Speedway GP for the 2015 season, sitting out the British leagues from 2016 until 2023, he is now seeking some extra action after losing his spot in the SGP series at the end of last season.

Magic will also compete for hometown team Wroclaw in Poland and Sports Insure Premiership newcomers Oxford in Britain.

Commenting on his Motala comeback, Janowski told the Piraterna official website: “I want to say hello to the supporters and sponsors. I have great memories with the Pirates, and I know it will be an exciting season.

“I hope that my performances in the Pirates kevlars will be of great joy to all Pirates. I can't wait until we start the season. See you soon!”

Janowski joins the likes of fellow countrymen and former Speedway GP stars Pawel Przedpelski and brothers Przemyslaw and Piotr Pawlicki in the Pirates team, as well as Czech ace Vaclav Milik and Poland’s Oskar Fajfer.
