Double World Under-21 champion Maksym Drabik finally makes his debut for hometown team Czestochowa after signing for 2023.

Despite getting his first taste of speedway in Czestochowa, Drabik has never represented his home city club in the PGE Ekstraliga. He competed for Lodz and Ostrow in 2014, Wroclaw from 2015 until 2020 and Lublin in 2022.

Drabik helped Lublin storm to the greatest season in the club’s history this year as they lifted their first PGE Ekstraliga title.

He will now hope to lead this season’s PGE Ekstraliga semi-finalists a stage further and repeat his title triumph in Lions’ green and white.

He joins former Lublin skipper Mikkel Michelsen in making the move to the Lions, where they team up with the likes of Speedway GP star Leon Madsen, Kacper Woryna and Jakub Miskowiak.

Swedish star Fredrik Lindgren moves in the opposite direction to Drabik, joining Lublin, while former World Under-21 champion Bartosz Smektala has left the Lions for his boyhood club Leszno and Jonas Jeppesen has also departed for Rzeszow.
