FIM Speedway’s 2023 champions will be honoured alongside a galaxy of global motorcycling’s biggest stars at the FIM Awards in Liverpool on Saturday.

Speedway GP world champion Bartosz Zmarzlik, SGP2 champion Mateusz Cierniak and SGP3 winner Rasmus Karlsson all head to the prestigious ceremony at the ACC Liverpool Convention Centre.

They will be joined by motorcycling world champions from all of the FIM’s many other disciplines and championships, including MotoGP, MXGP and the FIM Endurance World Championship, which is also promoted by Warner Bros. Discovery Sports Europe.

Zmarzlik is no stranger to the ceremony, as he collects his fourth Speedway GP gold medal, having become only the seventh rider in the sport’s history to win four world titles or more.

Cierniak makes his second visit to the FIM Awards after retaining his FIM Speedway Under-21 World Championship crown in the FIM SGP2 series, joining Emil Sayfutdinov, Darcy Ward and Maksym Drabik in an exclusive club of double World Under-21 champions.

Meanwhile, Swedish sensation Karlsson also joins the party after his unforgettable FIM Speedway Youth World Championship triumph over the world’s top 250cc under-16 stars at the FIM SGP3 Final in Malilla on July 14.

Poland will also be honoured for a senior and junior world team championship double. They topped the Monster Energy FIM Speedway World Cup podium following one of the sport’s all-time great team finals in Wroclaw on July 29. They also clinched FIM Speedway of Nations – SON2 gold with their under-21 riders in Riga on August 11.

Former Speedway GP winner Martin Smolinski of Germany will also be in Liverpool to celebrate his second FIM Long Track World Championship crown after pipping Britain’s Chris Harris to the title.
