Great Britain racer Robert Lambert warmed up for Warsaw by bagging 14 points as Vastervik opened Sweden’s Bauhaus Elitserien season with a 47-43 win away to Vargarna on Tuesday.

Lambert heads into Saturday’s Orlen FIM Speedway GP of Poland – Warsaw in red-hot form after dropping just one point away to the league’s newly-promoted club in Norrkoping.

He was supported by a nine paid 12-point tally from Aussie ace Max Fricke, with Denmark’s Mads Hansen and former Swedish champion Jacob Thorssell contributing seven paid 10 each.

Former world No.3 Niels-Kristian Iversen notched 15 points for the home side, with Daniel Henderson adding nine paid 10.

Elsewhere, German star Kai Huckenbeck blazed to 15 points from six races for Rospiggarna, but it was not enough to save them from a 54-36 loss at home to a Polish-powered Lejonen side.

Four-time Speedway GP world champion Bartosz Zmarzlik also heads into Poland’s biggest speedway event in great form after scoring 13 for the Lions, with Warsaw wild card Mateusz Cierniak bagging 10 paid 11. Kacper Woryna and Casper Henriksson collected eight paid nine each, while Dominik Kubera scored seven. Polish young gun Wiktor Przyjemski raced to 11 paid 14 for Rospiggarna.

Latvian star Andzejs Lebedevs topped the Dackarna score chart on 11 points as they won 55-35 at home to Piraterna.

He was backed up by a 10 paid 12-point total from Aussie star Brady Kurtz, with Swedish international Timo Lahti tallying 10. Denmark’s Rasmus Jensen notched nine paid 11 and Dan Bewley scored six paid seven points.

Former Malilla favourite Maciej Janowski raced to 11 paid 14 for the Pirates, with Piotr Pawlicki scoring 10 and his older brother Przemyslaw registering nine.

In the day’s other meeting, Speedway GP rider Szymon Wozniak scored eight paid nine for Indianerna as they won 47-43 away to Smederna.

Gleb Chugunov was Indians’ top performer on 10, with Patryk Dudek bagging nine paid 11 and Warsaw track reserve Bartlomiej Kowalski collecting eight paid nine points.

Double World Under-21 champion Maksym Drabik led the Smederna scoring on 12 paid 13 points, with Kim Nilsson accruing 11.
