ELITSERIEN | BRITS STAR AS SMEDERNA EDGES FINAL OPENER

Great Britain duo Robert Lambert and Dan Bewley combined to give Smederna the edge as they triumphed 47-42 in the first leg of the Bauhaus Elitserien play-off final at home to Lejonen on Wednesday night.

Lambert tallied 12 points, while Bewley collected 11 paid 12 as the Eskilstuna outfit gained a small advantage in the race for gold.

They were backed up by a nine paid 10-point haul from Grzegorz Zengota and eight paid 11 from Michael Jepsen Jensen.

But they face a tough task in Tuesday’s second leg in Gislaved after triple world champion Bartosz Zmarzlik racked up 13 paid 14 points for the Lions to keep them firmly in the hunt.

Former world No.2 Jaroslaw Hampel tallied 10 paid 11, with Dominik Kubera collecting eight paid nine.
