Double world champion Bartosz Zmarzlik snatched victory over Leszno’s Janusz Kolodziej in heat 15 to earn Gorzow a 45-45 draw at the Alfred Smoczyk Stadium on Easter Sunday.

Kolodziej was in control of the race, but Zmarzlik got the better of the former FIM Speedway Grand Prix star in the closing stages. Meanwhile, Zmarzlik’s partner Szymon Wozniak was brought down by Leszno’s Piotr Pawlicki, with the former world No.6 excluded and Wozniak awarded third.

This handed Gorzow the 4-2 they needed to rescue a draw, with Zmarzlik ending his afternoon on 13 points, while Wozniak tallied 10 paid 11. Speedway GP star Martin Vaculik scored seven, with Anders Thomsen adding five paid six.

Kolodziej topped the Bulls scorechart on 11 paid 12, while Pawlicki raced to 10 paid 11. French international David Bellego bagged eight paid nine, with 2017 world champion Jason Doyle scoring seven paid eight.

In the day’s other meeting, Polish racer Maksym Drabik and Speedway GP rider Mikkel Michelsen teamed up for a last-heat 5-1 to seal Lublin a tense 47-43 triumph at home to Czestochowa. The duo joined forces to beat Leon Madsen and Bartosz Smektala in heat 15 to take the points.

Drabik powered to 16 in total. The two-time World Under-21 champion racked up four wins and two second places from six outings to lead the Goats to victory. Michelsen backed him up on nine paid 11, with Dominik Kubera adding eight.

Danish racer Madsen was the Lions’ top performer on 11, with Freddie Lindgren and Kacper Woryna notching nine paid 10 each. Smektala added eight paid nine.
