Danish star Leon Madsen starred on 14 points for Czestochowa as they beat visitors Gorzow 50-40 on Sunday to set up a PGE Ekstraliga play-off semi-final showdown with Lublin.

The world No.2 dropped just one point over five rides as the Lions roared into the last four with a 99-81 aggregate victory.

He was well supported by an 11 paid 12-point tally from fellow Danish racer Mikkel Michelsen and a straight 11 by double FIM Speedway Under-21 world champion Maksym Drabik.

Slovak star Martin Vaculik followed up his second place at Saturday’s FIM GP Challenge in Gislaved by scoring 15 points from six races for Gorzow, with fellow 2024 Speedway GP qualifier Szymon Wozniak scoring seven – a figure matched by Oskar Fajfer. Young gun Oskar Paluch added eight paid 10.

The Lions now face Lublin in the next round. Triple Speedway GP world champion Bartosz Zmarzlik collected 13 points for the reigning champions as they won 49-41 at home to Torun.

With Torun going down 96-83 on aggregate, they registered the best score of the three defeated play-off quarter finalists, which was enough to see them progress to the semis, where they face table-topping Wroclaw.

Zmarzlik was backed up by an 11-point haul from former world No.2 Jaroslaw Hampel, 10 paid 11 from Speedway GP star Fredrik Lindgren and nine paid 11 from Monster Energy FIM Speedway World Cup winner Dominik Kubera. SGP2 champion Mateusz Cierniak added five.

Polish racer Pawel Przedpelski impressed on 12 points for Torun, with Great Britain ace Robert Lambert notching nine paid 10, Emil Sayfutdinov scoring seven and Patryk Dudek adding six paid seven points.

In the other quarter final, Wroclaw cruised into the last four as Dan Bewley scored 13 points in their 53-37 win at home to Leszno, rounding off a 101-79 aggregate victory.

Former Speedway GP world champion Artem Laguta weighed in with 12 for Wroclaw, with Maciej Janowski tallying 10 paid 11 and triple world champion Tai Woffinden scoring nine paid 11.

Former Polish champion Janusz Kolodziej racked up 15 for the Bulls, with Bartosz Smektala notching nine points.

The semi-final, first legs take place next Sunday, with Torun hosting Wroclaw and Czestochowa welcoming Lublin.
