Polish club Bydgoszcz has confirmed doctors will attempt to bring former Speedway GP winner Adrian Miedzinski out of his induced coma on “Wednesday or Thursday”.

The 2013 FIM Torun Speedway GP winner crashed heavily with Aussie champion Max Fricke in heat eight of the club’s 55-35 loss at Zielona Gora last Friday.

He was taken to the city’s hospital and placed into a coma by doctors after suffering trauma to the brain and spinal injuries.

There have been few updates on the former FIM Speedway World Cup winner’s condition. But posting on their official website today, Bydgoszcz confirmed they are hopeful Miedzinski will be brought out of his coma later this week.

A statement read: “Adrian Miedziński is still in a pharmacological coma at the hospital in Zielona Góra. His condition is stable. The attempt to wake up will be made on Wednesday or Thursday. Miedziak, we are with you!”

Everyone involved in FIM Speedway sends Adrian their best wishes for a full and speedy recovery.
