Speedway GP star Dan Bewley joined forces with Aussie racer Brady Kurtz to lift the Sport Insure Premiership crown for Belle Vue at Leicester on Thursday.

The Aces pair defeated Peterborough duo Richie Worrall and Ben Cook in the Grand Final to follow up the club’s Premiership title triumph in 2022.

The Belle Vue duo scored 32 points across their six heats, with Bewley racing to 20 points and Kurtz tallying 12.

But they were pipped to automatic Grand Final qualification by Peterborough on 33, with British rider Richie Worrall racing to a terrific 23 points from a possible 24, while partner Ben Cook added eight and rising star Jordan Jenkins chipped in with two for his mandatory ride.

Belle Vue faced off with Sheffield in the semi-final, with Speedway GP star Jack Holder scoring 16 and Polish racer Tobiasz Musielak tallying 13 as the Tigers made it through on 29.

Kurtz and Bewley teamed up to see off Sheffield 7-2 in the semi, before repeating the trick with another maximum in the Grand Final.

Speedway GP star Max Fricke raced to 19 points for host club Leicester, who finished on a team tally of 26, with rising star Drew Kemp adding five and Justin Sedgmen scoring two.

Ipswich matched Lions’ haul of 26, with former British champion Danny King collecting 18 and German star Erik Riss adding eight.

King’s Lynn took sixth spot on 22 points – all of them scored by Danish racer Nicolai Klindt. Wolves took last place on 21, with Steve Worrall racing to 16 points and Sam Masters adding five.
