British speedway’s traditional curtain-raiser heads to King’s Lynn as the Adrian Flux Arena hosts the Ben Fund Bonanza on Saturday, March 25 at 5pm.

The annual event is staged to raise cash for the Speedway Riders Benevolent Fund, a charity which supports riders sidelined temporarily or permanently by on-track crashes.

The charity spends roughly £100,000 per year assisting riders, including a significant number with life-changing injuries.

SRBF chairman Paul Ackroyd admits the meeting plays a key role in supporting the Bend Fund’s work. He said: “We are pleased and proud to confirm that the Ben Fund Bonanza once again will feature amongst the early season fixtures in Britain. This meeting is a vital lifeline both for the Benevolent Fund and the riders who rely on us, as it accrues around a quarter of our annual expenditure.

“Over the years we have only seen support for this great cause grow and we anticipate that will remain the case for this year’s event at King’s Lynn.

“We could not operate without the generosity of the public. Times are hard at the moment with the cost-of-living crisis, and we are just blown away by the support we continue to receive.

“This year’s Ben Fund Bonanza promises to be a very special event as we celebrate our 75th anniversary, and further updates will be issued in the coming weeks.”
