BASSO NAMED AS PETERBOROUGH'S FIRST 2023 SIGNING

Danish racer Benjamin Basso has been confirmed as SGB Premiership side Peterborough’s first signing for 2023.

The 2022 SGP2 rider, who finished third at the FIM SGP2 of Great Britain – Cardiff on August 14, made a fantastic impact with the club this year, averaging 6.29 in his debut season in Britain’s top tier.

He will also double up with SGB Championship side Glasgow once again and compete for champions Vojens in the Danish Speedwayligaen and Bydgoszcz in the Polish First Division.

News of Basso’s signing comes as a welcome pre-Christmas boost for Peterborough fans, who have been starved of team news at a time when five of their SGB Premiership rivals have completed their one-to-sevens, while Ipswich have just two riders left to sign.

In a statement announcing Basso’s return on their official website, Panthers urged fans to be patient and pledged that more team news will follow soon.
