Australia cruised to victory in the Monster Energy FIM Speedway World Cup Race Off on Friday to complete the line-up for Saturday’s Final showdown.

The Roos triumphed on 54 points to defeat Sweden (35 points), France (20 points) and Czech Republic (11 points). The Aussies now face hosts and reigning champions Poland, Semi-Final 1 winners Great Britain and Semi-Final 2 victors Denmark as the battle for the iconic Ove Fundin Trophy reaches its climax.

Jason Doyle (Australia):It's great to have five top-class riders in Team Australia. We had a bit of a problem in the Semi-Final and then we changed bikes for today and it was so much better. It's a massive confidence boost when you're winning races but also, we know we're up to speed. It's going to be a tough night tomorrow, but we're in for the win. No partying tonight, straight to bed and get ready for tomorrow.

Antonio Lindbäck (Sweden): "Australia were so fast today from the beginning and they kept it going for the rest of the meeting. Although we made a few mistakes, I'm still proud of my team. We haven't won, but that's speedway! Of course, we can always make things better and that's what we were looking for, but I feel that we worked really well."

Mark Lemon (Australia – Team Manager): "Pretty special effort by the boys. We appreciate that we're not going to repeat that tomorrow, but I couldn't ask for anything more. The extra laps and track time we had today are priceless and we embraced it. It is definitely an advantage and an upper hand for tomorrow. But speedway is a funny old game, there are so many variables to consider and tomorrow will be another day."

Morgan Andersson (Sweden – Team Manager): "The first eight heats with the Aussies coming on so strong were hard. We knew we needed to be at 100 percent with all the riders, not only one or two and we weren't really there. Congratulations to Australia. We could have pushed a little bit harder with the nominations with Freddie Lindgren, and maybe won one extra heat, but when we saw we weren't going to catch them, we decided we should give more experience to the rest of the riders than have an extra heat win. We were worried since we saw them in Semi-Final 2. They had the same setup today and the track was in a similar condition. But no excuses. They were just better than us. It is what it is, and the sun will come up again tomorrow.
