Biography

Tai Woffinden is Britain’s most successful speedway rider, having become the nation’s first-ever triple world champion in 2018. He famously won the 2013 Speedway GP World Championship as a 500/1 outsider with the bookmakers, before lifting title No.2 in 2015. He won an incredible six Speedway GP World Championship medals in nine seasons between 2013 and 2020 – three golds, two silvers and one bronze. Woffinden added another world title to his collection in Manchester in October 2021, helping Great Britain win their first world team title for 32 years at the 2021 FIM Speedway of Nations Final. A crash forced Woffy out of day two of the Final, but his words of wisdom ensured young guns Robert Lambert, Dan Bewley and Tom Brennan delivered the gold medals in his absence.
