Biography

After being crowned Speedway European Championship winner in 2018, Madsen was handed a Speedway GP wild card for 2019.

The Dane made a huge impact, topping the FIM Warsaw Speedway GP podium on his full-time series debut, before going on to win the FIM British Speedway GP in Cardiff and the FIM Torun Speedway GP on his way to World Championship silver.

Madsen won the Torun round with a seven-ride maximum, but fell just two points short of world champion Bartosz Zmarzlik.

Despite finishing fifth in 2020 and seventh in 2021, he still reached the FIM Speedway of Nations rostrum, winning bronze medals with Denmark in both seasons. But he will be keen to upgrade that to gold this summer as Danish seaside city Esbjerg hosts the entire tournament from July 27-30.
