Triple world champion Bartosz Zmarzlik heads the list of FIM Speedway stars taking to the red carpet in Rimini at tonight’s FIM Awards.

Live on the @FIMLive Facebook page from 22:00 CET (21:00 UK time), the ceremony features a galaxy of stars from the world of motorcycle racing as all the 2022 world champions will be on hand to receive their FIM medals.

Zmarzlik touched down in the Italian coastal city yesterday as he prepares to receive his third Speedway GP World Championship medal in four years.

He joins the likes of MotoGP world champion Francesco Bagnaia, superbike world champion Alvaro Bautista, MXGP world champion Tim Gajser and trials icon and champion Toni Bou on the big stage as one of motorcycling’s world champions for 2022.

Zmarzlik is not the only Pole in attendance as SGP2 winner Mateusz Cierniak will collect his prize for lifting the revamped FIM Speedway Under-21 World Championship.

Cierniak will also be recognised as part of Poland’s SON2 winning side after they retained their FIM Team Speedway Under-21 World Championship in Vojens on July 29.

FIM Speedway of Nations world champions Australia will be celebrated after sealing their first world team title since 2002 in Vojens, beating 2021 winners Great Britain in the Grand Final.

And SGP3 winner Mikkel Andersen of Denmark will take to the stage as FIM Speedway Youth world champion after topping the podium in the sport’s revamped 250cc under-16 class on an epic night of racing in Wroclaw last August.
