The United States’ brightest stars will battle it out for the right to race in next season’s Speedway GP qualifiers in the FIM North America Final at Perris, California on Saturday.

Max Ruml has won the continental crown for the past two seasons, but he faces stiff competition from American international Luke Becker. The Wolverhampton star finished second last year and once again impressed for his country at the FIM Speedway of Nations in Vojens last summer.

They are joined in the meeting by Becker’s FIM SON team mate Broc Nicol, who raced for Glasgow in the SGB Championship this season.

Dillon Ruml – Max’s brother and USA’s No.3 at the FIM SON – will be among the favourites at Perris after a very promising season for Oxford in the SGB Championship this year as he bids to secure a British club for 2023, as well as the chance to race for a spot in Speedway GP.

Former USA international Gino Manzares is also in the field as he bids to put himself in the shop window for a UK club and an SGP place too, while veteran Billy Janniro, Aaron Fox and Austin Novratil could also be among the frontrunners.

One familiar face in the field is Wilbur Hancock – eldest son of four-time Speedway GP world champion Greg Hancock. After growing up in the SGP paddock, Wilbur is no stranger to the sport’s top events. Now he gets his chance to shine in the biggest speedway meeting staged on US soil.
