THOMSEN MAKES RACING RETURN FOR GORZOW
19/06/2022
Danish champion Anders Thomsen is set to defy a heavy midweek crash in Denmark and start for Stal Gorzow in the PGE Ekstraliga this afternoon.
Thomsen was briefly knocked out in a first-turn crash with Speedway GP rival Mikkel Michelsen in Vojens last Wednesday.
The incident left Thomsen with suspected concussion, but after undergoing scans and training with Gorzow, he has been passed fit to race in their home match with champions Wroclaw.
The meeting marks the start of a huge week for Thomsen, who will be hoping to win a third straight Danish Championship in Holsted on Wednesday, before lining up in the 3W FIM Speedway GP of Poland – Gorzow this Saturday.
There is not such good news for Polish racer Gleb Chugunov, who has been ruled out of the Wroclaw team for the match.
The double FIM Speedway of Nations winner crashed at Tai Woffinden’s testimonial in Wroclaw last Thursday and was run over by Robert Lambert.
Incredibly, Chugunov escaped with nothing more than a shoulder injury, but he has been unable to recover in time to face Gorzow.
