Slovenian star Matej Zagar zoomed to 12 points for Sønderjylland Elite Speedway as the Vojens club won its first Danish Speedwayligaen title since its relaunch.

League racing returned to the Vojens Speedway Center in 2021 after a 10-year break and the club narrowly missed out on the title last year.

But they made no mistake on home shale this time around as Zagar led SES to victory in the Super Final on 42 points, beating runners-up Slangerup (31), Holsted (30) and Esbjerg (29) in the four-team tournament.

Zagar, who replaced the injured Anders Thomsen, was backed up by a 10-point haul from Danish international Nicolai Klindt, while Mads Hansen followed up his Speedway GP debut in Malilla on Saturday with eight points. SGP2 star Benjamin Basso and Jesper Knudsen scored six each.

Former Speedway GP winner Michael Jepsen Jensen led the Slangerup scoring on 11 points in the injured Mikkel Michelsen’s absence, with Jonas Seifert-Salk adding eight.

Vojens Speedway GP wild card Rasmus Jensen and former Swedish champion Jacob Thorssell topped the Holsted scorechart on nine apiece.

Former Danish champion Niels-Kristian Iversen and Grzegorz Zengota collected nine each for Esbjerg.
