Polish racer Pawel Przedpelski insists there’s “no big pressure” for his PGE Narodowy debut as he gets set for tonight’s Orlen FIM Speedway of Poland – Warsaw.

Przedpelski is in his first season as a Speedway GP rider, but has experienced the iconic Warsaw roar twice as a track reserve in 2016 and 2017.

The Torun hero did not take to the circuit on either of those occasions, so he can’t wait to face the world’s top riders over at least five rides.

He said: “It’s something amazing for me to be racing with these guys in the GP finally. I am so happy and I can’t wait to race on this track.

“Once I raced here in Warsaw – that was with the national team. But I know the track this weekend will be completely different than before.

“There is no big pressure. Like the other riders, I just want to win every heat and I want to fight on every lap. I will do my best and we will see what happens.”

Warsaw would be the perfect place for Przedpelski to bounce back from a tough opening round in Croatia, where he scored just one championship point. The FIM GP Challenge winner insists he’s only looking forward.

He said: “There were some unhappy situations in Croatia, but today is a different day and the important day is today. I have a clear head. I want to do my best and what will happen, we will see.”
