Polish shooting star Dominik Kubera has been handed a wild card for the International Individual Ekstraliga Championship (IMME) in Torun on April 2.

Kubera made a sensational impact on his FIM Speedway Grand Prix debut as a wild card in last year’s Lublin double-header – reaching the final on both nights on his PGE Ekstraliga home track.

His heroics earned him the chance to race alongside double world champion Bartosz Zmarzlik at the FIM Speedway of Nations Semi-Final in Daugavpils in September, where he helped Poland to victory.

Now Kubera will mix it will 11 Speedway GP riders in Torun and the Lublin racer cannot wait for the opportunity.

He said: “This is great news for me. I would like to thank PGE Ekstraliga very much for the nomination. I will go to Torun ready to go and I will do my best.”

Kubera is joined in the field by Zmarzlik, plus their national-team colleagues Maciej Janowski, Patryk Dudek, Pawel Przedpelski and Janusz Kolodziej, plus World Under-21 champion Jakub Miskowiak and Wiktor Lampart.

Triple world champions Tai Woffinden and Nicki Pedersen are also in action, plus 2017 world champion Jason Doyle, Leon Madsen, Martin Vaculik, Robert Lambert, Jack Holder and reigning European champion Mikkel Michelsen.
