FINAL PUSH FOR BEWLEYFINAL PUSH FOR BEWLEY

Great Britain racer Dan Bewley is determined to end his search for a 2023 Speedway GP final in Teterow this Saturday.

The Cumbrian heads into the Wölk FIM Speedway GP of Germany – Teterow placed seventh in the SGP standings after reaching the semi-finals of all three opening rounds in Croatia, Warsaw and Prague.

Bewley bagged 10 championship points in Croatia and Warsaw, and looked set for the final at Prague’s Marketa Stadium after topping the heat score chart on 13 race points.

But his night ended when he lost out to eventual winner Martin Vaculik and Jack Holder in semi-final one after being held up by Patryk Dudek on bend one.

While the Belle Vue star had every reason to be cheerful after taking 12 championship points from the Prague round, he is hopeful of converting a semi into a final in Teterow.

Reflecting on last Saturday’s Czech round, said: “There were a lot of positives to take. I felt I could have won every race I was in, and I felt really good on the bike. I feel I showed what I can do. It’s just about doing it all night.

“To be honest, I made a good start in the semi. I don’t know where Patryk made his start from, but it was really good. He just parked it in front of me a little bit and I lost some speed.

"I gave it everything to get through and it almost paid off. No complaints from me; I feel like I have shown some good stuff. I feel comfortable. I just want to be in the finals.

“I feel like I can win and after what I showed on Saturday, why not?

"I feel like I am going in the right direction. We will just keep plugging away and doing what we are doing. I will keep trying to improve and the boys are doing an awesome job with the bikes. It’s down to me to just make it happen really.”
