EKSTRALIGA | GORZOW HEROES PILE UP THE POINTS AHEAD OF HOME SGP
Gorzow duo Bartosz Zmarzlik and Martin Vaculik warmed up for Saturday’s FIM Speedway GP of Poland – Gorzow by bagging 13 points apiece as their side beat champions Wroclaw 52-38 at Edward Jancarz Stadium on Sunday.

Both riders have won two Speedway GP rounds at the venue and will be hoping to add to that tally next weekend. They both underlined their class around the circuit once again as they got the better of Wroclaw in the PGE Ekstraliga, handing Gorzow the aggregate bonus point 96-84 to leave them second in the standings – five points behind leaders Lublin.

Danish champion Anders Thomsen made an impressive comeback after a crash which left him briefly knocked out on the shale in Vojens last Wednesday. He tallied nine paid 10 points from five races, registering race wins against Speedway GP rivals Tai Woffinden and Dan Bewley.

FIM Gorzow Speedway GP wild card Szymon Wozniak also impressed on 12 paid 14 ahead of his first World Championship appearance since 2018.

Polish star Maciej Janowski led the Wroclaw scorechart on 12 paid 13 from six, while Bewley registered a straight 12 and Tai Woffinden scored seven paid eight points as Wroclaw stand seventh overall – once place and two points off the play-offs.

In the day’s other match, Polish rider Patryk Dudek racked up 14 paid 15 points as Torun roared to a 53-37 win at home to Leszno, taking the bonus point 96-84 on aggregate.

The team’s Speedway GP riders all piled up the points as Robert Lambert collected 13 paid 15, Pawel Przedpelski added 10 paid 13 and Jack Holder bagged nine paid 10.

Aussie icon Jason Doyle was Leszno’s leading light on a sensational 17 points, with Jaimon Lidsey adding 11 paid 13. The result leaves Leszno third in the standings on 12 points, while Torun is fifth on nine points.
