Speedway GP star Dan Bewley has lifted his first British Championship after winning the rescheduled Final in Manchester with a six-ride maximum.

The Cumbrian racer bounced back from a nightmare Kaeser FIM Speedway GP of Sweden – Malilla, where he managed just two points, by cruising through his five heats unbeaten.

He then won the grand final to top the podium ahead of runner-up Tom Brennan, third-placed Craig Cook and Danny King in fourth place.

Bewley’s British title triumph continues what has been an incredible season for the Maryport-born racer, who stormed to back-to-back Speedway GP wins in Cardiff and Wroclaw last month.

He was joined in gaining automatic final qualification by Cook, who racked up 12 points from his five rides. Bewley’s 2021 FIM Speedway of Nations-winning team mate Brennan made it into the final four with victory in the semi-final ahead of King. Brennan bagged 10 in the heats, while King collected 11.

Kyle Howarth finished third in the semi after registering 10 in the heats, with 2021 champion Adam Ellis taking fourth place, having qualified on nine.
